GTV V6 tensioner/idler pulleys.
So judging by the crunching noise that eminated from under the bonnet and the fact that the cambelt now seems to be rubbing against the engine block, I think that the idler pulley has eaten its bearing, or possibly the tensioner bearing has gone. I'm not sure as the cambelt seems to pull towards the engine block by the idler pulley, yet the noise seems to come from the tensioner. Anyway, my question is this, to change either of those, is it basically a new cambelt job? Because that was only done less than 7k miles and 2 years ago, and I'd rather not incurr the costs involved. Is it possible that they can be changed any other way? I'll be giving it to my local Indie anyway (Simply Alfas) as its not something I can do in any case, just trying to prepare myself for what the expense is going to be.
