How to test Front shock absorbers.
I am pretty sure my front shocks are knackered but I haven't got a clue how to test them. I have the following symptoms:
The ride quality through pot holes is awfull. By far the worst i have ever experienced. Worse than my 145 even.
Pushing the front of the car down by hand it is easy to rock the suspension and it continues to bounce a little after i stop.
Accelerating in a straight line involves lots of effort to keep the front of the car going straight.
Before the suspension was raised, certain potholes could make the car seesaw badly.
When i had the shocks completely off the car while changeing the springs i had to hold the rod up with an allan key as everytime i tried to put the bearing on the rod would slide back down. According to another thread they should stay up?
Does it sound like my shocks are knackered and what should i replace them with? Since raising the suspension the front leans more so i would like something firmer but would absorb bumps better.
