I had a 159 JTDm as a daily driver and there was nothing in the range I would have wanted to replace it with, that and the fact that the build quality just isn't good enough. Got a Merc which I didn't particularly enjoy driving and pined for another Alfa. Compromised on a 916 Spider which I love driving and don't have to rely on, though to date it's never let me down. It's a great drivers car, you get a bit of scuttle shake when you hit bumps but that's pretty normal for most soft tops. It's quick enough to let you know you're in a sports car but I did find the gearing a little odd at first, feels like it needs a 6th gear. However I've really grown to appreciate the power still on tap at the top end of the rev range. A genuine modern classic if ever there was one and shall be keeping mine forever.
