98 gtv v6 into a 2000 v6 gtv ?

hi there guys, i need some advice....again, ive searched the forum and cant find any info on this,
i want to put a 98 gtv v6 into a 99/2000 gtv, its registered as a 99, but the ecu comes up saying its the 2000 model

how difficult would it be to put this 98 engine into this 99 model, has anyone tried or seen or heard about it being done

What do you have from the original vehicle?
In basic the engines are the same, there are only differences in the auxilaries.

For starters the intake manifold is different aswell as the exhaust manifolds.
Some of the sensors maybe different to. It basicly comes down to motormanagement add-ons and uprated enviromental demands such as extra katalytic converters.

But if you only need the basic engine and can swap all the aux parts it is 100% the same engine.
I have a 2000 166 V6 in my 99 Spider with an '97 motormanagement system from a GTV.

Just as a matter of interest why are you looking into doing this, have you not been able to sort your misfire problems out, is this definitely the only answer.
