To be honest can't tell if they said "cylinder block" or "combustion chamber", think I heard combustion, but when the guys said the engine was gone that was it for me for the day. Everything else they said was just gone to the wind!
I trust the guys, well, to the same extent I trust anyone I don't particularly know! today didn't ask to see anything, but tomorrow I'm heading to the garage with more time and will ask to see the holes/damage and so on. But they are a nice bunch, and never tried to rip me off or anything like that, even did some jobs for free in the past so no reason to doubt, only to praise them.
I would definitely fill the engine with oil, seal the leak on the sump and give another go on the engine, but can't do that at the moment, don't have tools and knowledge for that.
Just don't understand how an engine with 115k miles "explodes". I mean, its not as if I was driving at 130mph for an hour! it was more like 1 min...
looking around for engines now, does anyone have an interesting 2.0 TS CF2 engine sitting in the garage?!
