Lovely looking colour combo amd a manual roof so no worries there. I also looked at the same yellow car as you, bit of a wide description to say the least!
Yes, the sellers of the yellow one were quite sheepish about it..They are dealers but say they bought it for their daughter because the car was yellow, She apparently hasn't used it...No problems there.
Where I did have the problem is that there isn't one scrap of paper/invoices with the car or service history book. Not even a receipt for the recent service. I know many do their own servicing but I'd at least keep the parts receipts or something for a buyer to base a value on.
One piece of A4 paper and in biro was written "cam belt changed on......".
They also claimed (and I have no reason to doubt it) that they had the idle valve replaced, but again nothing in writing to confirm.
Bushes on the front wishbones were perished, and there was an oil weep on the RHS of the engine.
I asked if I could take it out, and they said NO! and then said only if I am interested can I try it...Not the best way to handle a sale with me! I told them I was interested, but without any concrete evidence of maintenance/servicing I would find it difficult to meet their asking price but would make an offer reflecting the lack of these and certain things I had noticed needed rectifying. The most he would knock off was 95 quid, and so we agreed to disagree and we drove off......And damn glad we did to find this little gem in Watford.
