Just thought I'd share a short story for anyone who doesn't know where to get a replacement GTV key cut quickly and cheaply (I didn't!):
This morning I found that due to the beautiful Scottish winter wonder land outside that my locks had frozen completely solid. As my central locking is currently in a huff I attempted to open using the key in the lock. No luck and then a thought, "hang on, this little key that I'm currently flexing in this frozen lock is the only key I have. Probably wouldn't be the best start to my day if it snapped right now.."
Thankfully my tiny biceps saved the day and it didn't snap. So, half a pint of warm water in the lock later and I was off to source another key. It wasn't until five miles down the road that I realised I didn't have the faintest idea where to get one without taking out a second mortgage to pay for it.
Passed a Timpson's and thought, "why not ask in there?" and am I glad I did!
Exactly 3 minutes and £20 later I had a new, shiny, coded key that works perfectly to put away in a safe place
Not sure if they would be able to do keys for newer models but would recommend you give them a try if you find yourself, like me, flexing your only key in a frozen lock on a sub-zero morning!
