Frozen locks led to knackered central locking!
Hi all, this is a bit of a essay so apologies in advance!
This morning I went to unlock '98 3.0 gtv and the locks were frozen so wouldn't fully unlatch. I could see the lock trying to pop up and pushed the door release button when it was at the top of it's travel. This got me into the car but I noticed that the passenger door was still locked. I tried the internal handle, heard a crunch, then it went floppy! I was in a hurry so drove to work with a view to worry about it later, but when I got to the work car park I realised that although the key fob was setting the alarm, it was doing f*** all to the locks. I had to leave it and thought maybe once the temperature had risen it would sort itself out, but while both doors can open and close fine now, and the key will lock and unlock the doors individually, the central locking has given up, both with the key and the fob.
The alarm still works tho, so the fob is doing it's job, but the car is being a dick!
Anyone got any info on what could be the issue?
