Phase 2 V6 Airbag Light/VAGCOM/ECUScan Question
I've done numberous searches on this and found several threads, but none that give me the exact answer I'm looking for, or at least not in a language I understand!
Firstly, my airbag light is on. This was for a pretensioner fault I got diagnosed previously. Now I sorted the fault, but the light was still on, so I assumed this needed to be reset.
After looking it up on here, I could pick up this lead and download ECUScan for less than it would cost to plug into someone else diagsnostic device and reset everything. Then my MAF failed, which again I replaced, but this left the engine managment light on the dashboard.
I ordered a lead and downloaded ECUScan, not a problem, but when the lead came it didn't have the switch on it, which most people describe. Instead I got the main lead, which looks the same as all of them, just without the switch and a 3-Pin adaptor with a crocodile clip attached on a separate wire.
Now I'm guessing to access the engine ECU, all I need to do is connect to the OBD Port by the fusebox?
But as for the airbag, do I need to use the 3-pin adaptor and plug directly into the airbag ECU, or is that just for Phase 1's? Do I also access the airbag through the main 16-pin OBD port? If so I've read some soldering is required?
Anyone clued up on this?
