Driving my Spider fast around a large roundabout, I notice a nodding motion (pitching forward/back) which I think reflects a mismatch in damping rates between the front and the back. The car has standard shocks and springs, and 100,000km (62,100miles) on the clock. Handles quite well otherwise but slightly choppy ride (as though the wheelbase is a bit too short - in other words, the ride is a little like my FIAT 500, but not quite as bad!)
I don't know whether it is the fronts too soft, or the back too hard, but I recall that past experience here suggests that rear shocks are the ones to change. I think I'll go for KYB if I'm keeping standard fronts - I suspect that Koni might be stiffer and best fitted as a complete set.
