Stick with the Clic clips. They're far better than grotty old jubilee style clips.
They don't rust
they're quicker to undo/redo
they're easier to use ( with the correct tool )
they look much better
Finally, they have an expansion point in them ( where needed ) to allow the aluminium and hose to expand with heat. Jubilee style clips don't.
However, one of the clips on the thermostat ( if it is original ) may be a permanent clip. If so you will need to destroy it to remove it. That you will have to replace with a jubilee.
You don't have to use Clic pliers on the Clic clips ( but I would recommend them ). Plumber's adjustable grips can be used to refit and a small screwdriver will undo.
