GTV 2.0 V6 Turbo

Engine swap and rebuild 2.0 V6 TB

Bought a badly maintained 1996 GTV and immediately ran into issues. It finally ripped away a few teeth on the cam belt and lost all compression.
By chance a buddy of mine had a complete 2.0 V6 TB engine, with drivetrain, steering and brakes pulled from a 1998 GTV stashed away. He warned me I could not use the fuel system because it was a gen.2 model though. It does look the same......
I fear the old engine will need a major overhaul. I will rebuild it and keep it as a spare engine. Is there any point in replacing the sleeves and put in the 3 litre sleeves and pistons? Im no car engine tuner, so I could not fiddle much with the overall setup apart from a squadra chip.

I want to set it up for all year driving, even winter, snow and salt conditions. Anyone with hints on how to set it up for harsh conditions? Anyone with block/engine heaters mounted?

I have just started commuting daily and my astra diesel is draining away my will to live

Alfa romeo for driving :-)
Other cars for transport.
