I have recently purchased a GTV 2002 2.0 T Spark from the side of the road, I got it at the end of July and its been running sweet until a few weeks ago.
I dipped the oil when I got it and couldn't get a decent reading on the dip so I gave it a wee drink, then another drink and another, yes even too much as I had a bit of blue smoke out of the back. This soon went away over the week so no real concerns.
A month passed of glorious driving
and then on cornering through a roundabout the oil light flickered on and off on both corners, so again more oil required which has been sorted. However I now have a lovely ticking noise from the engine and after the blue smoke stops lovely black gray appears with a press of the accelerator.
It is now with the mechanics and I'm not too fussed on his comments, he reckons a new engine is required, as he may be able to stop the burning oil issue but the noise seems a waste of time to repair.
The engine has only 70,000 miles.
Has anyone had the same problem previous? Any solutions?
Am I right in saying that the 2.0 T Spark engine from the GTV, 147 and 156 are all the same?
