She's working again
I've posted a few times about my knackered engine and fitting a new one and am pleased to say I have done it :-)
New engine has done 66,000 miles and started first time, so far I have done 1000 miles with only a knackered coil needing to be changed. I think I may have a split in the intake pipe as there is a slightly lumpy idle and occasional judder below 1500 rpm (barely noticeable though) and apart from that the engine runs really smoothly and pulls really well. I'm even getting 30 mpg from it! (its a 2.0 JTS).
Does anyone have any other thoughts on the judder? Its only very slight and I don't think its the MAF as I remember checking that before. I will have the intake off at the weekend to check for splits and I might disconnect the front lambdas to see if it runs any better.
All in all though, delighted she is back on the road. I also have a bunch of spares I will be looking to sell at some point but that's another post.
PS I hope I haven't just tempted fate by writing this post!!
