Selling my 3.2 GTV
Very sad, but it's time for a bigger car and I can't justify running two cars.
I'll be placing ads up on Pistonheads, Autotrader, and on here later.
It's been a pleasure owning this GTV and I'll pop into the GTV / Spider forum occasionally to see what's going on. (I won't be too far away, just in the 159 forum.)
Hopefully the price seems reasonable, It seems far to low knowing everything that I've put into the car but hopefully I'm being realistic.
I've also got a bike rack that fits the GTV so if anyone is interested in this PM me. It's been well used but I'm happy to discuss an offer.
2003 Alfa Romeo GTV 3.2 V6 24v.
Very rare cobalt blue.
I've enjoyed every single moment of the 8 years that I've been behind the wheel of this lovely car and before me there was only 1 previous owner. I am selling because the time has come where I need a larger family car.
Overall the car is in excellent condition and has been maintained with no cost spared, at either an Alfa Romeo dealer or for the last 5 years at my local independent Alfa Romeo specialist. I have every single receipt for all work and maintenance that has been carried out on the car and I have every single MOT certificate. Along with this I have the original brochures, (The vehicle brochure and the technical specification brochure). There is also the original Alfa accessories brochure, which details all of the accessories that were available for the Alfa GTV.
Bodywork and Wheels
The colour of this GTV is cobalt blue. I believe there were only 12 of the 3.2 V6 GTV’s registered in this colour so it truly is a very rare colour. As you can see from the pictures, the bodywork is in good condition. There is a small scuff behind the drivers side door and there are some minor stone chips to the bonnet and wing mirrors. Importantly, there is no rust visible. The Alloy wheels are the optional and very desirable 17 inch 5 spoke alloy wheels beneath which are the recently powder coated yellow brake callipers, with black Alfa decals. Continental SPC3 tyres are fitted all round. The wheels do have some scuffing but not excessive for the age of the car. Koni shock absorbers are fitted all round and the rear suspension set up is fully powerflexed. All of the Alfa badges are in excellent condition and the front and rear Alfa badges were replaced in January this year.
The 240bhp 3.2 V6 engine starts, runs and performs brilliantly. The engine has covered 86,000 miles and is in superb condition, without any strange noises or overheating problems. The engine was last serviced at 81,000 miles and has a complete and comprehensive documented service history. The car makes a fantastic noise and is one of the highlights of the car.
Gearbox and Clutch
The 6 speed gearbox and clutch are in great condition and all gears are selected easily. The gear change is precise and there are none of the sloppy changes that can often be associated with the GTV. A new clutch, new Q2 differential and gearbox rebuild were fitted at around 60,000 miles following a differential failure. The Q2 differential is a highly recommended upgrade for the V6 GTV and will give peace of mind against any future differential failure, as well as being a great performance and handling enhancement.
The inside of this GTV is an absolutely lovely place to be and provides a real sense of occasion. This car is fitted with a black leather interior. The driver’s side bolster has some minor wear from use. The interior also benefits from the original GTV floor mats.
The wipers work properly and suffer none of the intermittent wiper faults that are common on the GTV. The wiper motor was replaced under warranty and has shown no sign of any problems sinse.
The car has been fitted with the optional 10 CD changer in the boot and has the optional stereo with satellite navigation. The satellite navigation runs off the CD that was supplied with the car at new so it is slightly out of date, but generally I have not found this to be a problem. The screen for the stereo does have some parts of the LCD that do not work properly, but this does not affect the usage.
There are no electrical gremlins and all of the electricals work, as they should.
This car comes complete with an impeccable dealer and specialist service history. All of the original books are supplied in the original wallet, and the service history comprises of all previous MOTs including advisory sheets, invoices and receipts as well as the service stamps. All stamps in the service book have a supporting invoice. I also have every single receipt, including the original purchase receipt.

The car comes with the main drivers key & immobiliser, a spare key & immobiliser, a valet key and the brown (master) key and the original key code card. The car has a spare tyre (not a tyre inflation kit) and the original Alfa Romeo toolkit in the original wallet.
As you can see; the car has been looked after well, serviced and maintained impeccably for all of its life. Hopefully it will go to a good home and someone will cherish it as I have.
