GTV - WIERD Alarm problems
I have a propblem since returning from holiday to find the battery on my car flat as the proverbial..........
On reconnecting a newly charged battery, everything works fine but I have the 4 way flashers going off whenever I go to open the door(s) and the red LED on the dash is continually flashing.
Have researched through this forum and others so started looking for dodgy fuses / siren units and all the stuff....
This is where it gets interesting (having sorted out the basic difference between the alarm and the immobiliser). I have no push-button key fob although the alarm/siren unit fitted was the original fitment FIAT/Alfa one. However this had already been disconnected (I supect others have been this way before me?) Presumably if it was connected I 'd have a nice noise too!!
The car starts and drives fine and the flashers seem to stop after a while. I have driven the car for some miles in the hope that it would reset itself but no joy.
Have investigated the fuses with but if I disconnect the fuse to the alarm I will also disable the indicators etc.
I read the string about locating the the boot lid switch and re-connecting the battery with that "closed" to fool the sytem into thinking that all was shut. However that seems to have been removed too??? (assuming I'm looking for a plunger type switch??)
Judging from the noise made by the flashers there is a separate flasher unit for the "Alarm" flashers. Does anyone know if this is true?? If so perhaps I could disconnect that. (I'm not bothered about having a working alarm)
Or is there another way??? Can anybody help?? What am I doing here - what is the meaning of life...... Why did I buy a GTV??????????
