2.0 JTS Lowering

After seeing a parked grey 3.0 GTV at my work which looked a damm sight lower than mine, I have been considering getting mine done.

I have been reading the threads on here and from what I can gather my car will be sitting higher than the 3L anyway, and people on here are lowering there 3L by -20mm.

Basically what im asking is the drop I should go for. Currently thinking along the lines of 35-40mm. Does anyone have any experience in this?

Recommendations on spring would also be appreciated, there is a lot talk on eibach but from what i can tell they only lower 20mm.

p.s. if you work at BP dyce and have a grey gtv it looks fantastic

I sell one twinspark sump every couple of weeks to an owner that has hit a speedhump or gone done a pothole and the exhaust has bounced up a hit the sump where its as thin as an easter egg.
When was the last time you saw a lowered car with a full bodykit ? Even Lambos have lifting gear. All was ok untill roads were crap and councils put up speed humps.
Perhaps i should see say nothing and put a jts sump on ebay.

My 2p. Don't. These cars need to be kept as original as possible.
On the other hand I suppose the more cars that are mucked about with the more mine will end up being worth.

well that's a resounding no to doing it then!
Didnt really think it would devalue the motor to be honest, so that and the sump issue is probably a good enough reason not to bother.

Cheers for your replies.

I had another GTV parked next to mine at a meet recently. Mine was at the standard height and his was 30mm (I think) lower. Dropping the rear made the wheels look much further inboard compared to mine and swayed me from the idea of lowering.

IIRC the V6 has a wider stance at the rear so probably isn't affected as much.
