new thermostat but car now feels like its missfiring
my gtv was running cool all the time - and I was told that this meant I was probably going through a good bit more fuel than I needed. Was advised to change the thermostat.
So got the thermostat changed. Car now runs around 80 (and seems to heat up quick). But since the new thermostat has gone in, it feels terrible when accelerating through the gears (especially at lower revs).
It feels lumpy and is not pulling smoothly.
Idle is fine - and when you really put your foot down, it doesn't feel bad. Just a normal levels of acceleration, it's not smooth at all.
I've searched a few 'thermostat change' threads, but this doesn't seem to be an issue.
So I'd appreciate any opinions here before going back to the mechanic (who's good, but not that familiar with gtv's - so he'd probably appreciate those opinions too!)
