Update 2 !
Air leaks hopefully sorted
I have replaced the split hose with a 45 deg 76mm silicon item off ebay.
Due to the nature of using this car as a means of raising money for charity I have kept costs down by fabricating a alloy take off for the oil vapour hose. And the car now feels better but still not sure its 100%.
Speaking of the charity event, the original idea was to raise money before and during the event, with the car being sold in Milan. And any money going to the charity (another posting has details and links).
Probably due to time restrictions and the rally being called the banger rally with each car costing less than £500 and with all the signage on the cars, the cars would probably end up getting scraped ! as have only a afternoon to sell.
But now Hope if all ok, to drive it Back, But it will be a tiring 4 Days ! With the car being sold to my co-driver, and more money to charity
Any way back to car !
Unfortunately I can't take any readings while moving with alfaecuscan as laptop battery is u/s.
Other ideas on power being down ?
When searching other posts the exhaust is mentioned as a culprit of being down in power, and one thing I have had to do is weld up the exhaust !
The front box has had a new centre welded to it, basically new steel welded between both end plates.
Missing mountings had meant speed bump damage !
Only the ends were suitably thick to weld on,to make it air tight ..........other wise it was ok internally, and new looking.
The second box looks to be almost new but had a 3/4" hole cut in the outlet pipe, so welded up
The third looks to be as new as 2nd, with no holes !
The fourth ( why so many and are they needed ! ) is the rear box, the tail pipe had almost fallen off so was cut back to weld and replacement welded on. The original chrome trim being reused. All looks original, and central to opening. The interior of this box however is braking up, but gasses still exiting. the wadding can be seen, nice wet and oily !
I presume the oil is from before the replacement engine was fitted as no smoke at any time now !
Now I know a replacement exhaust an ideal but costs more money than budget allows.
Now something i am wondering about !
One thing I haven't checked is the cat ? on the outside its nearing the end of its life, being rusty around its edges, but is a costly thing to replace.
If I take it off ( and manage to do so in one piece ) what should i be looking for, and are they possible to clean ?
