Just been looking into this car more. The odometer is broken so it doesn't show the mileage. The MOT certificate i've got states 89k but I guess they just made it up.
I put Alfa Diag on and it said 165,000km which is about 102k miles. I checked on my 147 and the reading on Alfa Diag is slightly different to what the car says (it's done 75,000 miles on the clock, shows 115,000km which is 72,000 miles so it's not completely accurate).
I've put the MOT number up in the DVLA system and it shows this.
2006 - 81k
2007 - 90k
2008 - 98k
2009 - 103k
2011 - 180k (eeek!!!)
The 2009 MOT was in October, the 2011 was in January so 15 months. I'm finding it hard to believe that it's done 77,000 miles in that time, considering it'd have been 10 years old (and it's an Alfa!). The condition looks more 100k than 180k. My guess is that the MOT place made a mistake and it's supposed to be 108,000 miles.
Going by what the car itself says on Alfa Diag (102,000 miles) and allowing for the margin of inaccuracy it's shown on my 147, i'm guessing it's around 108-110k at the moment (considering it must have been sitting for most of 2011-2012 racking up the fines that didn't get paid).
If the car did do 77,000 miles in 15 months which works out as 5000+ a month, that would be some sort of record for a 10 year old Alfa.
There is a sticker on the cambelt cover that says the belt was done at 95,000 miles in 2008. Mileage wise it's probably fine, it'll be getting on for 4 years old though.
I had a look at the tyres on it, Bridgestone Potenza's on the front, Goodyear Eagle F1's on the back. Happy with that.
It's definitely been cherished in the past. It's got an Alfa Romeo Owners Club sticker in the window, maybe I should have a look on there, see if I can track a previous owner.
