Also, it is not as simple as G73 which is why I asked for model year and phase.
On some cars it is connector G73c or G73a and not G73.
And what you do with the wire in G73(x) differs with phase/year as well. On P1 and early P2, you would ground the wire on G73 or G73c respectively, but that wouldn't do any good as the relay coil is fed from the cutoff relay. And the cutoff relay is in the boot with the boot release relay. Which is why I wrote that this process may work. With P1 & early P2, this would probably require the removal of all the rear trim to access the relays.
On a 1999 on P2 however, you would put +12v on the wire in the G73a connector and that would work.
