Fix my GTV
I have a 99 PH2 Twinny that has many issues; however a couple are bugging me and 1 really driving me insane...
1. (The biggest issue)
At idle the car runs around 800rpm and "chugs" quite badly, so much so it is shaking the exhaust really violently. Also there is a lot of white vapour that really smells strongly of fuel. Around 1000rpm upwards the car smooth’s out lovely and is fine. If I rev the car and then let it drop or dip the clutch the car try's to cut out, sometimes it catches others it cuts out.
To rectify this I have, changed the following. Plugs, MAF (a second hand bosch model, made no difference, disconnected maf made very little if no difference to when maf fitted) lambda sensor. Exhaust manifold gasket, downpipes (had small holes by the bracket) and CAT. It has also had a full service and tried running on regular and super unleaded. I have also cleaned the throttle body. There is no water in the oil or vice versa, engine temp seems fine too, 90 whilst stood and around 70-80 when driven (from memory.. though still sits at 90)
The car has been stood for around 10 months (the car had the above issue before being stood so not relevant) and had new brakes that operated fine (it was stood with handbrake off). however the braking now seems restricted, around 2-3 inch of travel of the pedal and it goes solid, rock solid, with only around 50% braking, I cannot get the car to lock up it brakes that poor. I checked the callipers and none seem seized though the rear right was really stiff to rewind.
Any help with these 2 issues would be greatly appreciated
