Missing Meta Alarm
Following a recent thread reagrding re-coding Meta Alarm units and re-instating remote central locking I thought I check my ph2 TS Spider, no alarm unit behind radio and no siren!
It's a Feb 2002 model supplied by an Alfa Main dealer and the retailed by an Alfa main dealer to the 2nd owner.
I'm the 3rd owner, the 2nd owner had had the car since Oct 2003, when I bought the car the owner admitted without prompting he did not know the function of the dashboard LED and looked mistified when I asked about the remote key fobs, as a result I assumed the car had been supplied from new with no alarm or remote centarl locking. Other than that it was fine, in good condition with low miles and extensive service history
Is this unusual?
I would be interested if any of the more knowledgeable forum memebers could shed some light on this issue.
Will the wiring harness be there? the connector for the siren looks to be there under the black plasric inspection cover. Would it be expensive to fit a new Meta alarm?
It's no big deal as the central locking works fine from the key and locking it with the top down seems somewhat pointless but the alarm would be handy.
