Blimey, threads like this make me realise I will probably never want to sell my spider.......the thought of someone saying "yes its a lovvely car and worth every penny BUT it is due to have the blah blah replaced by now so I am knocking off £500 for that as I will have to get it done...." franklly, sod off I would rather keep the car and enjoy it than go through all that.
My point - surely its a cost to consider for RUNNING cars like ours, not a price haggling point? I agree that if something is not working or malfunctioing, then of course its a bargaining point. But just because something has not been done dead on schedule (these are old cars remember) taking off that perceived cost is a bit ridiculous. After all, how many people actually then go out and get it done straight away?
Maybe I am out of step with other people on this, but for me, when you buy a car its a negotiation of what is being asked against what you are willing pay. Nit picking using future repair costs to do this is just ridiculous.
If you can't afford to buy and run these cars, stop dreaming...I for one would not subsidise someone else buying and running the car I am selling.
Sorry guys, get a bit worked up about people who expect something for nothing.
