Having a rather poor eye for this kind of thing (see http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...ew-gtv-v6.html
) I thought I'd ask for some advice.
Test drove a GTV V6 this weekend (Used Alfa Romeo Gtv Coupe 3.0 V6 24v Lusso 2dr | R J Cross
). Pulled well up to red line, stable idle, cosmetically ok (other than missing rear badge), interior electrics all seem to work.
It failed it's MOT in May with a pretty much full A4 sheet of advisories including shocks, brakes, blowing exhaust etc. The seller will MOT it, service it and change cambelt (last done 2007) for £2700. I think I can get a few hundred off or get new badge etc sorted.
I would like some advice about the service history, specifically lack thereof. The book is stamped regularly until 2008 and then nothing. Additionally there are no receipts (for anything!). The dealer did have the MOT history from the DVLA which shows it passed yearly with little bother until May (when I imagine the dealer picked it up).
Given it will be getting MOT/belt/service done prior to me picking it up is it worth a go?
I intend to have it for a year and then sell on as I move jobs in August 2013 and will be covering lots of miles. For now it would be a 2nd car.
Thanks for your collective wisdom!
