I was driving from Brighton to Oxford today when my spider lost all power and I was left stranded on the M25 unable to get to the hard shoulder. Apo logies to anyone who was held up by me until the police came. The AA conectected the car to their computer and ruled out my first idea of failed fuel pump. The loss of power happened really quickly, and the AA were unable to restart the car. Their final thought was lack of message from the camshaft censor? It might be the cambelt skipping a tooth. Does this seem a plausible explanation? The car has done 12000 miles from new and the belts and tensioners changrd 11 months ago. Is it likely to be an electrical problem. The car is now at a garage. I probably shouldnt have written this after coming back from the pub. Basically just happy that I survived unscathed. It was a lovely day too.
