New to the scene 3.0v6

Hi All

I have been lurking on here for a couple of months having a read, but yet to post!

I bought my GTV v6 about 3 months ago, it was a cheap at 1450 and has a decent mileage 146,000. But, I actually can't believe how good it is! A lot of car for the money. My theory about the mileage is that it can't be that un-reliable to achieve that mileage! Is there anyone else here with higher?

Had a blat through Snowdonia last night, and was really impressed with it. I'm used to RWD BMWs but this Alfa is just as much fun!

It has a few rattles and some issues, but nothing out of the ordinary for this age (and price I paid) of car.

It's a 3.0litre, 6 speed box, 17" alloys, leather and spoilers - so can't really go wrong!

I think it is going to be worth spending a bit of time rebuilding it, it doesn't seem so rusty underneath and overall seems straight. Engine and box also seem to be strong! It will be something different to work on as previously I have rebuilt a few BMW e30s and a Toyota Landcruiser (which I drove from London to Cape Town.....) Looking forward to it!

Very nice Gwynley. Alot of car for, in my currency, very very little money!

If you attempt to drive your GTV down to Cape Town then stop by Durban for a beer

Great for the money, well done. I'm also looking at the moment for a cheap 'project' GTV V6, can't wait to get my teeth into one and sorting it out.
Good luck with it.

It certainly is good value for money and when you take out petrol costs it should be a cheapish car to run (I mostly cycle to work and also have a van).

KaizerG - I didn't quite make it to Durban, got stuck having too much fun in Mozambique and ended up running out of time! Now there would only be a few places where there arn't tarmac roads between us now - but finding Alfa Spares in countries like Ethiopia would be impossible!
