I have the same wheels on my ph 1 spider and I thought they were ph 2 but bradpit99 saw them and told me that they are in fact phase 3.
Can anyone confirm? He seems to be clued up but the previous post seems pretty sure they are ph2, also.
BTW I have a set of 16" wheels (are they called pepper pot?) that came off my car that are in really good nick, minimum curbing marks, with four good condition budget tyres (they are virtually new with loads of tread). Offers anyone?
Oh, and before you all get too sniffy about the budget tyres I drove them very spiritedly when I first had the car and could not unstick them. This surprised me as there are an awful lot of folks who become anal about what tyres should and should not be used. These tyre snobs are always prepared to ram their opinions down everybody elses throat but in the real world, for 'standard' driving, these tyres are fine. For someone who just wants a vehicle to drive normally rather than drive like an Exocet then they are perfectly acceptable.
My biggest problem with cheap tyres has always been traction. My Audi used to spin its budget tyres when pulling out quickly into traffic which caused a bit of squeaky bum time and eventually prompted me to replace them for 'better' tyres. However, I had no traction problems with these tyres when on my spider and as the car was new to me I can assure you that I pulled out rapidly everywhere for the first few weeks.
Let me know if you are interested. I am confident e bay will get me a good return on them if I get no takers here.
