Help - your advice would be sorely welcome! I'm hopefully going down to sunny Kent either tomorrow or Tues to bag this 26,000 miler GTV V6
, I posted a thread earlier about it and have more-or-less decided to take the leap of faith, so help me God ! :
Alfa Romeo GTV V6 24v Lusso with Aero Kit for sale in Hildenborough Kent | ADG Sevenoaks
BUT .... I've just done the MOT history checks via Directgov website, it passed the MOT just 2 weeks ago & it had the following "Advisory Notes" :
- Offside Rear Coil spring corroded (2.4.C.1b)
- Front tyres wearing on inner edge
- Offside rear bump stop adrift
The previous MOT from July 2011 was only 500 miles ago and had the same last 2 notes as above
so obviously they haven't been sorted from then.
SO ..... question is how much do you reckon I knock-off the £6k asking price to pay for the above???? It's classic GTV V6 front wishbone shennanigans .... but just the bushes, all the arms etc etc or what? I'm thinking £500.00 off at least. The dealer said it's got loads of history, FARSH, stamped book etc.
It also hasn't been serviced for 2 yrs (though it's only done 1600 miles since then & cambelts, pulleys etc were done last Sept) so I need to factor an oil service in n'all. I totally realise a 13 year old Alfa ain't gonna be perfect, but £6k is quite a price even for such a low miler. I won't be sticking more than 4k miles a year on it anyway.
Thanks for any advice, proper lookin forward to hearing that V6 sonata again....
