I have just read that the spider is 1350kgs and the GTV even heavier with the V6 engine versions exceeding 1450kgs. Not sure how accurate these figures are but they seem right to me.
My point is that you will need to take out a little more than just the engine to get down to the 1000kgs max SWL.
I suspect that the lift/rotisserie is fine on early small classic cars, (sort of spitfire or midget sized,) or even just body shells on larger vehicles, but I personally would not use it on my TS Spider without fearing that it may crumple to earth doing more damage than good.
I have used a rotisserie in the past and can vouch that they are a miracle for working on the underside of cars, however the one I used was an industrial sized monster that would rotate any car that you could bolt on to it. The one you are looking at is a mere toy in comparison.
