There are fixed steel studs sticking out of the mounting posts.
I could make some foam spacers or similar to mask off the studs, I suppose.
However, wing is silver and car is red and to get the full monty i will need to paint the wing red first. Do I pay together it sprayed with the chance of not liking it.
The answer is yes, I am just going to risk it. The car and wing can be both sprayed/resprayed together.
Many thanks to one and all for your input.
Not sure if anyone will be interested but when I work out how to upload images I will put pictures of my car out there for all to see. I have made a few subtle changes that I am quite pleased with.
Apart from the SS exhaust and induction kit I have had the aluminium engine cover polished, picked out in red and then lacquered.
I have Mazda MX5 roll bars fitted - 60mm diameter chromed hoops fixed by using my home made polished stainless brackets. I made a polycarbonate wind deflector fitted with subtle Alfa stick on emblems so that the uninitiated would think that it was OEM.
My centre console, clocks/radio console, door pockets and air bag are all covered in carbon fibre effect vinyl which I think looks really pleasing. The advantage with vinyl is if it looks naff you can just rip it off. Also if you make a mess putting it on you can just rip it off and start again.
When I get the car resprayed I will fit phase two colour coded sills and plan also to fit a set of reversing alarms to the rear bumper/valance which will be sprayed after fitting so they blend in.
I find that the rear of the car is quite hard to judge, especially with the roll hoops and deflector in place as they mask much of the view behind. Sacriledge, I know, and many young blades will pooh pooh the idea of needing a reversing alarm but I really do not want to ding the rear once it is resprayed.
Thanks again to one and all.
