I am surprised that you still don't get my point.
The fact that you prepared the day before, got the jubilee clips ready etc etc is the reason why you managed the job in twenty minutes.
Please read carefully my response to Alfapash as the same applies to you.
If you told the OP the tricks of the trade, if you told him to get some jubilee clips ready and what sizes he would need, if you explained that a certain tool may speed up the removal of the old original clips and then suggested that it could be done in twenty minutes I would be applauding you as a tremendous guy who really helps the needy new Alfa owner.
Instead you puffed your chest out, told the guy the job was as easy as falling off a log, and offered no help at to enable him to achieve the job in twenty minutes.
Oh, by the way, there is nothing that I will read in these forums that could make me feel bad about my own performance. I have no problem with admitting that I took two hours over replacing mine. As I said before, life is not a knob size contest,...... At least not for me.
People who make a first post on these forums need assistance both in arriving at a diagnosis for a fault and in rectifying that fault. If there are tricks of the trade, special tools, particular steps that need to be followed etc then you, as an experienced owner should offer advice in all those areas. Instead we get "simple job mate, twenty minutes tops".
Well thanks a bunch. That really helped!
Don't turn on me because you did not offer useful assistance. You made it a knob size contest, not me!
All the best
