Well, after last night's soldering and a serious fight with the windows driver, I'm rather chuffed that my 8 year old VAGcom cable worked faultlessly with the Fiatecuscan software this evening. Airbag reset along with a few other errors! One to do with intermittent key codes, another a water temp sensor - all I hope related to the dodgy negative battery terminal clamp which is now fixed.
Now I need to solder up the other pins to do the ABS and Aircon.
I was shocked to discover the Odometer was showing almost 260000 kilometres!! Well, I was until I realised I'd selected the wrong ECU.
Strange that it will still connect to the ECU and give you random results, but to be fair it did warn me there was an ECU code mismatch!
I was hoping to get it MOT'd tomos, but I'd forgotten about the rear view mirror that needs reattaching, and the cracked number plate, and er something else I've forgotten again...
Oh, hang on i remember now, the washer water tank is missing its lid. Not sure how easy it is to source a new/secondhand cap and replace it, and I'm not sure if that is an MOT failure.
I'm getting impatient now!
