It's amazing how much better Gtvs and spiders look when they don't have faded paint and your Gtv looks excellent

Looks like the same colour as mine was (but yours has fewer scratches), very nice

I would but it would have to be as a 2nd / fun car and not as a commuter car, I just couldn't see a third one die

Hopefully this works!

My phase 1 Spider Twin Spark

Bought as a project to save from the scrapman! Needs some TLC here and there, an MOT but will be ready for the summer and the Alfa events!

Absolutely beautiful car, and so happy to be an Alfa Owner again!

Thank you! While waiting for her parts to arrive I have resorted to detailing her. But her rear bumper is faded to pink, will spray that next!

Phase one owner here (well, actually it's registered to my girlfriend). Bought our black twinnie Spider for just £750 last year. If more style can be bought for less cash right now I'll eat my hat. And yours!

Hi Andy

My GTV 3.0 is a PH2 German import which came with a "Certificato Di Conformita Cee"; a certificate that does not come with UK cars, so I've been told by a dealer.

Some extracts from it:
Quote:
e conforme sotto tutti gli aspetti al tipo completo descritto nell omologazione numero e3*95/54*0006*04 del 01/04/1998
e quindi puo essere immatricolato definitivamente senza ulteriori omologazioni. Luogo TORINO data 03/04/1999
Firma Direttore di Produzione mansioni
Quote:
and conforms in all respects to the complete type described in approval number e3 * 95/54 * 0006 * 04 of 01/04/1998
and therefore may be registered permanently without further approvals. TURIN place on 03/04/1999
Signature Production Manager Tasks
I believe this to mean the car was built on or after the 01/4/1998 using 1998 build standard components and authorised by the Production Manager for release on the 03/04/1999.

Take a look at Bozhdynsky's excellent website for further info.
Phil

Moaning

Hi Andy

We have the same taste in colour

I'm waiting for a dry spell (moan) so that I can give the car a nice polish, glaze and wax before uploading some pics.
There is an image in my profile with the car in the "just bought state".

Mines 18 years old now and I'm not sure as if I should get it sprayed or keep original.
Its not bad.. just not great either..
I was thinking of spending a couple of hundred with one of these paint restoration guys ..
anyone got any experience??
I know nothing about car cosmetics.

Keep toying with that idea myself. They range in cost from a couple of hundred to five or so.
I have three cars they could have a go at..

Yea .. and also I've heard that an old/classic car is better off with it's original paint..
Even if it's a bit worse for wear..

Some pics of my ph1 98 - Spider 2.0TS
It is fitted with a ph2 grille and clear indicators. Besides that it's pretty original.
Ferrodo 2500 front brake pads, standard at the rear and standard Brembo discs.
17" ATP 6 forged wheels, 215/45 and original 16" with 205/55 winter tires.
Want to fit a strut bar at the front and maybe some spacers at the rear, but also need to replace som bushes this year so I have to see. Looking forward to sping anyway
