So after a bit searching about ended up buying
Got it yesterday drove up from Dunblane to Aberdeen all felt good no noises or knocks, bodywork has few stonechips scratches but to be expected for the year.
I'm the 9th owner doesn't have full history but have been through all the invoices that are there and have found that it was serviced 12k and 24k and for sure at 74k. Bunch of MOT's etc there as well so mileage looks right got up to 60k in first few years and seems to have averaged 2k a year for most of is life. Two owners before me definitely looked after car while had it as well as service had bunch of stuff done including timing belt in 2006, previous owner had belts done again back end of 2009. Had radiator replaced at one point as well.
Obvious things need to fix.
Seat some ripping in usual place.
Stereo had been disconnected put new one in but aerial isnt going up.
Locking storage doesn't seem to lock and bounces up and down.
Back window a bit tired may need replacing.
cobwebs need cleaning he had it in outside shed storage.
Initial driving impressions took it easy as has basically only been used few miles a week to keep battery charged. Having to get used to trusting the mirrors I always look over shoulder before overtaking, parking etc different and the turning circle
. Enjoying it and compared to my last car rustbucket L reg merc its one I want to cherish and maybe keep for a few years and am excited to drive.
So quick questions
1 What servicing should I get done? Standard 84k service at a specialist (Guessing the one at Dundee unless recommend an Aberdeen Place or something more? Car will be my daily drive.
2 Timing belt 3 yeears old in September but only got 1,500 mile should I still get it done or see what the specialist says?
3 Is there a downloadable drivers handbook as isnt one with the car, none english ones only.
Anything else should be thinking about initially?
