First ...before I start to rant about the Spider yet again.
A big thanks to everyone who posted anything regarding idling problems etc...after doing a search of this site I found absolutely loads of things on what the problem could be : so...Thanks
Right, the rant..
The spider when warm seems to idle between 400-1000 rpm, when driving is fine and will easily redline if i allow it
which is nice.
Also will drive fine...then when we stop..do a bit of shopping ...go back to car...car will not start straight away..will take a few goes?? but then starts and is fine apart from the idling at standstill???
So according to some of the posts on the site it COULD be..
Idle Control Valve (not sure if this is the same as IA)
Throttle Body?? (no idea what this encompasses)
Of course it could be anything not even related to these...but I am guessing there is a strong chance it is one of them.
I just need some advice on where to start...they have closed our local Alfa dealer (Cheltenham) our nearest is now Worcester (rumour says they are good ) not a problem taking it there apart from Alfa prices.
My main concern is taking to a garage, they fixing one thing only for it to be another
Perhaps I am being stingy but I do not want to replace anything I do not have too !!
So after all this rant...all I would like to know is...where should I tell them to start?? I guess it is not as easy as that but hey ..worth asking
