Different hood problem - Stuck Down!

Ok Chaps any suggestions would be great....

I put the hood down drove from London to york tried to put it up and got nothing, not even the whir of the motor trying to work. So its not the usual worn gear issue which i have had and sorted some time ago, but what is it?

I think i can hear a relay clicking when i press the button but the button only seems to operate the windows and won't start the motor so the dam hood is stuck down. Also the manual release button doesn't do anything.

All of these issues re the hood can be got around manually.Im sure there is a cable you can put to open the flap (similar to petrol flap cable) in the event of failure. Also i recon you can raise and lower the hood manually with the ignition off.

At the back of the drivers seat are two switches, possibly under a covering plate of black plastic. That will give you manual release of the rear deck. DON'T try holding the switch, you only knack the motor further.

Apparently the cog goes, we are taking ours to replace next week, 600 bill
