Earthing lead location?

Can anybody advise on where a certain braided earth cable attaches?
Under the engine/gearbox area is a small braided cable about 320mm long with an M8 eye on the disconnected end.
One end is affixed to the steering rack but I've no idea where the other end is supposed to go.
I must have disconnected it when I removed the gearbox for a clutch change! Everything seems to work but I'd like it properly connected up.
Any ideas please?

I have seen this on mine... Does it bolt to the gearbox?

I'll have a look next time I'm under there
