Abs help please

right ..... how does the ABS work? not what it does, how does it work?
60a fuse fine, 20a fuse fine, connector to pump fine. Not checked wheel sensors but will they actually stop it from working? I have no warning light at switch on .... could be light true, but slam brakes on and a wheel locks up and no pedal vibration .... inactive! should there be a noise when ignition switched on? the fluid needs replacing its old and a bit low .... will that stop the ABS from working? is there any way that the ABS can be switched off/disabled? i have 1 week to decide if its worth keeping her so any help to solve the ABS problem would be much appreciated. If anyone is able to read p1 codes
oh .... is there a relay for the ABS? i dont have a p1 handbook .... wouldn't that be nice if it was a $****d relay.

No relay outside the ABS ECU itself. There are two inside the ABS ECU. As long as the brake fluid is at an adequate level it'll have no effect on the ABS.

As you don't get the ABS light at switch on, I suspect someone in the past has 'fixed' the ABS by disabling or covering up the LED.

There was someone in the Norfolk area offering diagnostics a while back. You may want to try a search.
