Gtv alarm issues

Help please:
I've got a 96 gtv, which I bought with a faulty alarm.. It's been turned off by the key which is sized.... I want an alarm but have no fob switch for the original one if I did switch it on.. Can anyone surgest a cheap way of having a new alarm and fob, that could possibly use the original wiring.. A big ask but I'm being quoted 300

A '96 probably has the Scorpion 918U. A unit that is no longer supported.

You can check by removing the main instrument pack. Lower and pull back the steering wheel on the adjuster and then remove the two Allen screws fastening the main instrument cluster. The alarm unit should be behind the main instruments.

Alarms should utilise the existing wiring as all the signals will be there boot/doors/bonnet open, central locking, 12v power supply ( multiple for tamper detection ), LED etc. You'll only need additional wiring if you want additional features ( remote boot opening, door locking when the car is moving etc ).
