Squealing brakes driving me mental now
Brakes squealing revisited. Having got utterly sick of my screaming brakes I took them in again to another garage to try some new pads (again) and attempt to fix this problem.
So the garage - who is confident they can fix this - remove the pads and fit my new ones - Black Diamond predator. They also advised that have fitted some anti - squeal shims, cleaned and coppergreased the pads. The screaming pads they replaced were OEM. So great, this works for about 3 days and the squeal comes back. Gradually (2 weeks) its almost as bad as it was with the OEM pads.
The background on this is that I had new (brand new, dealer part) GTA 300mm brakes 2 years / 15000 miles ago so I doubt there is anything wrong or worn there. The discs fitted at the time were new, grooved (not drilled) Tarox. I still have them. Originally I fitted Ferodo DS2500 pads but these screamed so much I changed to OEM almost straight away. The OEMs gradually became as bad as the Ferodos after a few weeks but I put up with them until now. The Black Diamond have been the least bad squealers but are slowly getting back to the same already.
I am thoroughly sick of this now. No one is able to give me a straight answer, garage wise, and no one will tell me how to get it fixed. Its not like I am not prepared to pay, these brakes must have cost me nearly a grand over the last 2 years, I just want it fixing. My original specialist who fitted the brakes is convinced its pad compound but having tried 3 including OEM where I am supposed to go? Any garages in the North who tell me they can fix this (with money back if it doesnt...) welcome to apply. Anyone out there can fix this?
