Hello everyone. Apologies if this is a stupid question
My GTV is struggling to rev past 3.5k, so after months (years) of procrastination I've finally decided to try and sort it out. I've bought myself a new MAF and weather permitting will fit it with a new air filter this weekend. I'll check the pipes for cracks and give everything a clean while I'm at it.
I would have thought that that the air intake pipes would all be held together with jubilee clips but mine is held together with what looks like some sort of crimped clip. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with these.
I don't even know if they need to come off, but it looks like it or I can't see how I'm going to get the MAF out.
I've attached a picture so you know what I'm going on about. You can see the clip with the green band attaching the top of the MAF to the air pipe. There are a few others holding the pipes together, including one that was recently fitted by a garage where they have split a new air pipe (second photo) fortunately on the outside. There is a normal jubilee clip at the other end on the throttle body.
So, what do I need to do to remove these? Do I need a special tool? And more importantly, how do I get them back on? Will I need a new set, or should I just get some jubilee clips? I don't even know what these things are called to do an internet search.
Any help much appreciated.
