Hi to all
I have fallen in love with a steering wheel and I desperately have her on my 1997 mk1 twin spark.
I have recently bought a second hand airbag ecu as a few attempts with examiner would not remove the light.
What I would like to know is what do I replace the airbag connector with if I remove said wheel and bag does somebody have a photo showing the doctored connector.
I really don't want a red light again after the new wheel instal
Regards to all as usual
Does anyone know how I can check if my airbag system is even plugged in and functioning? My light doesn't come on at all and I'd prefer to remove it completely to save weight if it isn't doing anything.
Thanks that's exactly what I'm after have you done this yourself ? Does it matter which way round the resistor is fitted to the airbag connector ?
I've used 3.3 ohm resistors as dummies when testing my airbag ECU, and it works perfectly. You can turn the resistor anyway around, it doesn't matter.
3.3 ohm isn't critical. The ECU senses an error if the resistans is below 0.1 ohm or above 5.6 ohm. 3.3 is simply somewhere in the middle.
