hpi check - strange

I am looking to buy a GTV.
I have just made a hpi check on the one I have seen, and there is an ALERT for a risk of discrepency on mileage!

Alert Details

The current plate (PLATE C) was transferred to this vehicle on Aug/2008

PLATE A (same than the 1st one!) was applied to this vehicle on June/2008

PLATE B was applied to this vehicle on Ma/2003

PLATE A was applied to this vehicle on Jan/2000
National Mileage Register

Data currently held on the National Mileage Register (NMR) indicates that there may be a mileage discrepancy on this vehicle.
Mileages as recorded by the National Mileage Register
Date recorded Recorded by Mileage reading Total
14-May-2008 NMR 39,000
14-May-2008 NMR 39,500
22-Jul-2008 DVLA 10,000
03-Aug-2010 DVLA 43,000
13-Sep-2011 DVLA 45,000

What do you think?

(I will introduce myself when I have my GTV!)

I guess there could be a legitimate reason - i had a Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo that had an alert when i checked but that was just because it had a private plate. I would suggest checking the paper history - MoT's and service record etc. It could just be a typo/incorrect entry for the 10,000 mile record as the other mileages seem to make sense. If there is no paper history i would be wary in any case - these cars need to be looked after or they can become expensive very quickly! Good luck with it, i'm on my second GTV, a V6 from a TS - both are fantastic in my opinion!

Looks to me that it was mis-recorded. 22 Jul 2008 should be 40,000. That ties in with with the earlier 39,500 and then 3,000 miles over the next couple of years. Doesn't really ring any alarm bells to me, just the result of someone's bad handwriting!

Not sure why it's got two figures for the same date though.

Is it usual that start with a Reg plate (2000), then go to Private Plate (2003), then come back to the same registration plate nber than in 2000 (June 2008), then move to a new Private plate (aug2008)?
I don't know very well how it works in UK!

Yes, it's quite normal that if you take a personal number off a car they will give you back the 'ordinary' number that the car originally had (if still available). If the current personal number is taken off the car they will probably give you back the original 2000 number yet again.
