Wiper+Washer problem Phase 1 Spider
I've searched & read many threads already but can't find the exact same problem.
All wiper speeds & washer were working fine 2 days ago then all wipers stopped & the washer would stay on after pulling the stalk back to operate, it would only turn off with the ignition.
Long story short: checked fuse, relay, wiper stalk(tried another), box/relay N14 live feeds(it is like new inside & clicks on 1st & 2nd speeds correctly............what a B*****d of a job!), main feed to attached wiper motor 'control box' all ok but nothing else to motor plugs when unplugged. I've got a workshop manual so have followed it's diagnosis within 55-12.
Took motor off, direct feed would make it work (so not siezed) but only by connecting pin A1 to A2, again no other combination would work.
Connected everything back up on the car & the washer was then permanently on with ignition but without having to pull the stalk to operate it. The only way to stop it was either disconnect the motor(either plug), pull the fuse &/or relay or turn off ignition. It would run even with the stalk completely unplugged & N14 also unplugged!
Having given the motor a couple of 'taps' out of frustration I reconnected everything again & the washer motor was 'quiet' & the wiper motor worked on all speeds but when trying the washer the motor 'control box' just clicks...... no washer!!!!!?????
My thoughts are the problem is inside the motor control box, maybe a dry joint but which one?
I did find a thread with pictures of the wiper motor control box opened up but can't find it again.
Anybody had the same problem?
