Been lurking for a while and reading up on all the pleasures and pitfalls of owning a GTV, theres some fantastic information here
Im in the situation that I was going to sell my ford fiesta and get a gtv as a daily driver, as I work 7 miles away from home
however found out last week that things are not soo good at work at the moment, so theres a possibilty I might need to look elsewhere, which would involve a longer travel / consulatancy based role
I still want a GTV, but the prospect of having to do big mileage in one on a daily basis, I feel would not be best, so im thinking about keeping the fiesta for "mundane work journeys" and get a "project" car, something that needs some tinkering and tidying up, without spending a fortune on it.
I've built kit cars in the past, so im not shy in using a spanner / welder / spraygun etc, my question is ..... do you think its feasable to pick up a slightly less loved gtv for the 300-400 mark, based on the fact that Ive seen a few reasonable / good ones go for around the 800 mark (2ltr tspark phase 2) and tinker/fix it, or is it a total false economy and will end up costing me a lot more longer term.
any thoughts and comments are welcome
