I have just rung my mechanic and he tells me that my car has passed the MOT - Hurrah!
As I understand it, all that it needed to pass was the replacement of rear droplink, which he is replacing for me tomorrow. Hopefully this will also stop the chirpy / chattery noise I could hear
In addition to this, before taking it to the garage this morning, I purchased two Goodyear Eagle F1 GS3s
, got all the tyres filled with Nitrogen
, had the tracking done
and they centred the steering wheel properly.
The difference between a decent set of tyres and the "Matador / Wanli" items that were on there before (OK there are still two dodgy ones on the rear), is that the tyres absorb / damp the shock of potholes a lot better, the car doesn't tramline so much and it seems a lot more stable at "private track" speeds, as well as appearing to be quieter too.
All in all a good day! (I get the bill for the MOT tomorrow).
