Well a few years ago (about 4) I bought myself a GTV V6 in black with tan 5 speed on a 'S' plate for about £5.5k
She was perfect, and living at home I spent most of my money keeping her in tip-top condition.
I did however want to buy my own place, so with great regret the car was sold and exported to Ireland.
Fast forward to 3 months ago, and i was looking for a fun car.
Up popped a GTV V6 in Red with Tan, 6 speeder with 1 month MOT and 2 weeks Tax.
All for £950!
Needless to say, i had picked the car up under 24 hours from seeing the advert.
The story has a typical 'Alfa' twist though. I took the car to 'Duncan/Alfanet' in Bristol, (the chap who i trust all my Alfas with) for an MOT/service.
The car had been making a whirring noise which co-insided with the revs, and the flanks where covered in oil.
As we can guess, a cambelt variator had collapsed and the oil pipes rotten.
Still over £1000 later (yes i must be certifiable) the car is now nearing mechanical perfection (new discs and an exhaust left) and im loving being back in the chair.
Point of note, the 6 speeder feels much quicker, and is also much better on fuel. But at a loss to gearchange feel.
Cheers for taking the time to read.
