Alfa GTV Steering
Hi guys, I have fairly recently gone from a Brera 3.2S to a GTV V6 which has covered 54k. All in all very happy engine and gearbox etc. is all tip top.
When I bought the car it did have some handling issues, pulling to one side and scuttle shake when cornering and hitting uneven roads. The car was previously owned by someone who lived in pothole ridden area so I thought rear shocks were first thing to look at.
Following replacement of the rear shocks (OEM) and a laser alignment she drives fantastic on smooth roads, and doesn't pull from side to side. The rear shocks were completely shot with one not having any resistance left at all so no wonder I have noticed a huge improvement. The scuttle shake has also disappeared so huge difference.
However on the front I steel feel the steering isn't as 'tight' as it should be, whenever I hit uneven roads, bumps or potholes the steering wheel jolts left to right following the surface of the road be it a bump, pothole or an uneven surface. I want the steering to be generally a lot tighter and a bit more of a heavier feel when the car is in motion. Anyone got any ideas what could be the cause?
Incidentally the car has already been fully power-flexed and all roll bars etc. are in good nick.
Thanks in advance!
