Bushes, airbags and tires.
Bambi has recently developed a bit of a knock from the rear and also a slack arse round bumpy corners. Said a quick prayer and took her into Alfa Aid in Maidenhead.
The nice man there quoted me £330 for the lower arms with powerflex bushes. Bizarrely the standard Alfa parts are more expensive at about £400.
While she was up on the ramps the guy takes me round the underneath of the car, pushing a bit here, pulling a bit there. Seems like she's in pretty good nick, which is nice to hear.
My airbag light is also on but apparently the problem is the seat connections 99% of the time. He said he's never fitted a new ECU on a GTV. The trick is to never move the seats (forwards or backwards) and never tilt them forwards for rear access whilst the ignition is on. The cable stretches and the ECU looses contact with the sensor, you get an error and the light goes on. It doesn't go off when the connection is restored. However, if the ignition is off then the ECU isn't powered up so doesn't know that the cable has been stretched. There's a tip for you!
Finally, I need some new tires too. Not sure what to go for but all 4 need replacing so its gonna be a big dent in the wallet.
